Short installation instructions for:
Linux
Welcome to the Gnome Map Application Program Home Page.
Here you will find a couple of files.
The map application program itself with necessary assemblies in windows and linux flavors (the only difference is the config files)
The associated open source code for the assemblies that require it.
Prerequisites:
1. MySQL Database
2. Tiger Data Set (available from the US Census)
3. A lot of time to generate the database from the tiger set using the GMapDBMaker program
4. Gtk Sharp (included in Mono (which is how I have it) )
5. GtkGLExt, Note that in windows, Mono includes GtkGlExt
6. Oh yeah, Mono if running under linux and either mono or .NET Framework if running under windows.
7. libgdiplus on linux (for System.Drawing to work)
